Binary Spiders Custom Portfolio
Hello, and thanks for considering me for your Composer role at Binary Spiders!
I’ve been working as a professional game composer and implementer for fourteen years, so I have a diverse portfolio that includes everything from chamber music and live orchestra scores to electronic and hybrid pieces. I have a doctorate in musical composition from the University of Hartford and I am equally comfortable orchestrating live sessions as implementing events with middleware (versatile in both Wwise and FMOD) and game engines (comfortable with both Unity and Unreal).
I’ve selected a handful of music that I believe fit your reference material in some way. The work I do is 100% custom to the project, so nothing fits precisely, but I feel my work on Eternights (Studio Sai, 2021), Paladins (Hi-Rez Studios, 2019), and Epic Battles of History (Frag Games, 2020) fit the bill in important ways.

Game Music and Implementation
Eternights (Studio Sai)
Eternights is a dark, post-apocalyptic hack ‘n slash with a wide range of musical styles. It has a gritty aesthetic, and it also incorporates live orchestra elements as well as many electronic elements. My role on this project was audio director, composer, and implementer. I composed and implemented all three hours of original music, and integrated sound effects and dialogue using FMOD and Unity. Below is a taste of some of the darker musical cues, plus the more tender song “Goodbye,” which features vocals from Lorien. Eternights has earned various awards and honors including a long-listing for the World Soundtrack Awards, and a finalist for best audio for an indie game at the Game Audio Network Guild Awards.
Paladins (Hi-Rez Studios)
Paladins is a multiplayer FPS set in a fantasy realm. I was brought onto the team for additional music. The example below is an orchestral stinger I composed to accompany the character “Kaiju Makoa” and his ultimate ability.
Nick Jr. Block Party (Nickelodeon)
The music below is an excerpt of the music from an episode of “Block Party,” a series of animated shorts featuring lighter, more whimsical orchestral writing. This series earned me a PROMAXBDA Award for short-form content, as well as a Daytime Emmy Nomination in 2014.
Epic Battles of History (Frag Games)
Epic Battles of History is a deck-builder inspired by actual historical figures. The soundtrack is generally lighter than the references, but it includes large-scale and nuanced orchestration. The cue below is a simpler background track that is somewhat hypnotic, but does build into a rich atmospheric texture not unlike some of the references provided.
Evil Nun (Keplerians)
The track below is a much darker “chase” cue from the horror game Evil Nun.
